I thought applying and signing up would be scary but the process was very motivating, easy, and approachable! I'm very happy with my decision in starting out in this school and I know my school year will be very fruitful this coming fall when I'm able to take all my classes within my busy full time work schedule. It's small enough to get comfortable with, and since I don't have a car I'm glad I can walk around it. Generally I feel safe and comfortable on campus. It's not often that I see main lobby empty. Living in Nelson Hall is definitely an experience, but a great way to build community. I like all of my professors, and the small classroom sizes means I've been able to build relationships with all of them as well. Another nice thing is not only getting close with peers, but professors as well. I've gone to a concert, taken Zumba classes, been in a choreographed lipsyncing competition, and more, in just my first year!. There are plenty of fun and unique opportunities throughout the year. I love the diversity of chapel, I've visited chapels for Veggietales, Pro-Life, Hispanos Unidos, etc. The daily chapel opportunities are great for making friends. I did live on campus at Joe Greene and absolutely loved it! The only thing I really don't like about the campus is how there are some buildings that are pretty run down and the dinning halls are not all that great for the amount of money we pay for the dinning hall pass. The professors I had were very accommodating to the unexpected winter storm that we had and unexpected family deaths. Although I started during the pandemic I feel that I had a great first year and am so very excited for this fall with everything opening back up. Every department I have reached out to whether it be financial aid or housing, has always helped me tremendously without making me feel like I was not being heard. There is a lot of diversity at UNT and they offer a lot of resources to help you succeed. Sophomore: I started at this school during the pandemic and I feel that they handled everything extremely well ! UNT has been my dream school since I was a little kid and it has exceeded every expectation. Would choose Baylor again if I could do undergrad over!. Some of the ‘Baylor bubble” culture is not the best like ‘ring by spring’ pressures and purity culture undertones, but many students are growing and learning and discovering healthier approaches to life, and Baylor is a good place for that to happen. Waco is not the most exciting, but it is growing and close to Dallas and Austin for fun weekends. The Baylor network has also been a great help for my social life and career prospects!. I discovered my passions here and was given a great foundation to continue into my adult career. I was able to study abroad, participate in a variety of activities and be intellectually challenged. As a theatre design major and BIC student, I got the best of both the cultural education and the critical thinking. Overall I am grateful to be a Horned Frog! The pressure of needing to do well for financial purposes led to me not getting the results that I expect from myself. This has affected me as I am only able to attend TCU due to the academic scholarship that I received which lowered the cost of loans that I had to take out. The one critique that I have about the school is that it is expensive which puts pressure on the students, which can at times take focus away from just simply doing well in class. In the midst of COVID-19, I feel safe being on-campus and going to the library. The school is well taken care of and very clean especially with the COVID rules. From the time I toured the campus, I just knew it was where I belong and I can easily say that I still have that feeling today. The staff is helpful on all grounds and the student body is welcoming. Sophomore: TCU is a picture-perfect campus! Every day when I attend class I feel like I'm in a movie.
